Enjoy beautiful discoveries from the history of mathematics. Spark your curiosity with interesting videos and perplexing problems. A few songs and sick math jokes will lighten things up. Open to the mathematically curious ages 10 to adult. Presented by Joe Griesbach, retired high school math teacher and math club moderator. Registration not required.
March 7: This session we'll be talking about the Pythagorean Theorem, Fermat's Last Theorem, a perplexing probability problem, and the tower of Hanoi puzzle.
March 28: This session we'll be talking about 495 and 6174, the Fundamental Counting Principle, and the Fibonacci sequence.
April 18: This session we'll be talking about pi, the Platonic Solids, the Möbius Strip, and a squared squares problem.
April 25: This session we'll be solving two counting problems, an illumination problem, the birthday problem, a curious curve, and an area problem solved with the help of a 6-foot tall, invisible rabbit named Harvey.
