Monday, September 22nd: Getting to Know Your iPhone - During this hands-on workshop specifically for iPhone users, we'll explore some of the common features of iPhones. You'll learn ways to interact with the touch screen, how to access important controls, and how to search for specific settings. We'll also cover best practices for securing and maintaining your device. Please bring your iPhone to class.

Tuesday, September 30th: Getting to Know Your Android/Smartphone - During this hands-on workshop specifically for Android/Smartphone users, you'll learn ways to interact with the touch screen, how to access important controls and how to search for specific settings. We'll also cover best practices for securing and maintaining your device. Note that Android/Smartphone devices vary depending on the model and this workshop focuses on features that most devices have but will not cover every question.

Tuesday, October 14th: Managing Privacy Settings on Your iPhone - In this workshop, we’ll learn about the built-in privacy features of the Safari app, as well as the iPhone's other privacy settings. We’ll explore Safari's Private mode and look at how to manage app permissions and tracking on an iPhone. Please note that this workshop focuses on specific privacy features and will not cover every iPhone question.

Monday, October 20th: Managing Privacy Settings on Your Android/Smartphone - In this workshop, we’ll learn to manage privacy settings in the Chrome browser app and on your Android/Smartphone. We’ll explore Chrome's Incognito mode and look at how to manage app permissions and tracking on an Android/Smartphone device. This workshop focuses on specific privacy features and will not cover every Android/Smartphone question.

Tuesday, October 28th: Gmail Tips & Tricks (Gmail Required to Register) - You must have a Gmail address and should be comfortable sending and receiving emails to register for this class. This session will NOT go over how to sign up for a Gmail address. This workshop will cover important features like spellcheck, formatting emails, searching your inbox, adding a signature, and attaching files. The session will combine demonstration and hands-on practice. Bring your Gmail username and password.

Tuesday, November 4th: Is that AI? - With advances in artificial intelligence (AI) technology, AI programs can now create text, images, and much more. At first sight, it may be hard to tell if what you see was created or altered by AI. In this session, we’ll teach you tips and give you tools to help you determine if an image or piece of writing was generated by AI.

Tuesday, November 11th: AI & Disinformation - Disinformation refers to false information created to mislead people, and it's nothing new. But today's AI powered tools and social media have made it easier and faster to create and spread disinformation. In this lecture, we’ll explore how AI is used to create convincing deep-fakes and clone voices, making it challenging to distinguish between real and fake content. We’ll also review best practices for evaluating information and explore tech tools that can help identify content created with AI.

Monday, November 17th: AI All Around - If it seems like AI is showing up everywhere, it's not just you! From searching the web to attending a Zoom meeting, AI tools are now available to help with most online tasks. In this lecture, we'll explore many of the digital platforms and websites where generative AI is now available. We'll discuss how the tools try to make tasks easier and go over privacy considerations to keep in mind when using them.

Tuesday, December 2nd: AI Image Generator - Do you envision something in your mind’s eye but struggle to bring it to life? There’s an AI tool for that! This lecture will explain how artificial intelligence can turn your words into stunning realistic and imaginative images in seconds. We’ll demonstrate an AI image generator and the wide range of visual and artistic styles it can produce. You’ll also learn tips for getting the most out of this new and exciting technology so you can get started using it too.

Monday, December 8th: AI Voice Generator - Have you heard about voice-cloning, digital avatars, or text-to-video? This lecture will explain how artificial intelligence programs can turn scripts and even just ideas/a few sentences into realistic voices and videos in a matter of minutes. We’ll explore AI voice and video generators, their common features, and the wide range of content they can produce. You’ll also learn tips and considerations for using these tools so you can also learn to make them!
